CAROL SWINDAMAN, SAMP, WASART Carol has been at Heavenly Spa since its opening in 2004. She discovered the benefits of warm water therapy while working to rehabilitate her own rescued dog, Trooper, after a front leg amputation and spinal surgery.
She has been in Veterinary medicine for 20 years, working at a busy 9-doctor practice as the lead of the Animal Care Technicians, facilities coordinator and part of the management team at the hospital. Carol has completed three certifications in animal massage and currently practices animal massage and rehabilitation under the direction of the Doctors. She is most interested in orthopedic rehabilitation after surgery and canine and feline geriatric comfort and rehabilitation. Carol has completed Reiki II energy work certification which she uses in all of her work with animals. She also has an interest in acupressure, Chinese medicine and aromatherapy studies.
Carol is a member of IAAMB, International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork, the Association of Canine Water Therapy, and WASART, Washington State Animal Response Team. She continues training in rigging, climbing and swift water rescue After hurricane Katrina she spent time in New Orleans helping with Animal Rescue and continues to support ARNO – Animal Rescue New Orleans.
When not working at the animal hospital or training she works daily with her dog, Trooper, who uses a cart, enjoys working out and running.
