In April 2009 my Chihuahua son Cheech had sustained a neck injury leaving him paralyzed on the front limbs, after a lengthy regimen of crate rest and steroids he started to make a recovery. I found out about Heavenly Spa and started taking him there for water therapy where he made incredible progress. It was truly amazing to see how much the combination of massage, warm water and swimming helped him so quickly to make a full recovery.
I have been training Dressage horses and riders for the past 13 years and have always had a passion for horses and dogs, so when a position opened up for a therapist at Heavenly Spa I jumped at the chance. To be able to help other dogs the way Cheech was helped was beyond amazing.
After completing the massage training to earn my SAMP, I then trained extensively with resident therapist Claire McLaughlin who took my skills to the next level. This is the most rewarding work I have ever done and I feel so lucky to work with each and every dog.
When I’m not at the Spa I am either hanging out with my 3 Chihuahua children or riding, training and competing the horses.
